NGU6601- Management and Leadership in Nursing, a 6 credits course in level 6  which will be carried out throughout the year ( both first & second semester).  There are no any prerequisites to follow this course.


Research Project, NGU6803 is a 8 credit course in level 6.This course is focused on the research project on the basis of Nursing. C pass for NGU5303 and BSU5335 is compulsory requirement to continue this course and students should attain eligibility for 24 remaining courses of Level 5

This is a three credit, first semester course offered by the department of Nursing under B.Sc Nursing degree programme which aims to improve knowledge and skills required to understand concepts and theories of nursing in order to apply those concepts and theories into nursing practice.

This is a three credit course which is taught in level 6. This course gives you multidisciplinary approach to specialized nursing care for people with life threatening illnesses. It focuses on providing people with relief from the symptoms, pain, physical stress, and mental stress of the terminal diagnosis.


This is a Level 5 subject which  has 4 credits and you will have to spend around 200 hours on it. It covers 30 sessions on psychiatry and mental health nursing. You are expected to take two NBTs and a final examination. 70% from best NBT+30% from other NBT will be taken for offering eligibility for final examination.

This is NGU5405 - "Paediatric Nursing" , a four-credit course which belongs to Level 5 of the B. Sc. Nursing degree programme offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka.

FDE302O is a non-credit compulsory course that is offered to all new registrants of OUSL. This course is developed to provide essential basic skills required to succeed in the distance learning mode and facilitate adaptation of new students to the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences
